Oscar - The World's Best Therapy Dog :)

The Wonder Egg at Needles Acre, Dunnellon, Florida . . .

Oscar is a Mi-ki. His breed maximizes all of the best characteristics of companion dogs . . . he's non-shedding, non-allergenic, non-barking (by choice on his part), and overall a happy 13lb fluffy kid. In other words - perfect for traveling around in the Wonder Egg. Here you can see Oscar doing what he does best, hanging out and keeping someone company who needs a little company. We're in Dunnellon, Florida helping Oscar's grandmother, Helene, recover from elective hip surgery. At the Life Care Center of Citrus County, they hung out right after her operation as she received initial post-op rehabilitation from wonderfully kind caregivers. Oscar's aunts, Martha and Susan, came to visit . . . When his grandma got home, Oscar continued his vigil and kept her company, day and night. Physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and aids have been visiting the home. Along with their help and Oscar's encouragement, her strength is coming along nicely. We'll stay a couple more weeks before pointing the Wonder Egg westbound towards home . . . Then it's time to get ready for the twins to arrive in late July. WOOHOOOooooooooo!

Hi, Pete. I just browsed through some of my travel trailer links and came across you and Oscar. It's been a while. I am so pleased that you made your Oliver purchase and have taken such joy in it. You've gone a loooonnnng way since last year in Bandera, TX. You're a marvelous writer and storyteller; such talents are rare these days.

I'm still dreaming about my travel trailer. Don't have a firm plan, but I think I'll be furloughed from my seasonal job at the IRS by late summer or early fall, and plan to toss the dog in my car and cruise around for a few weeks--or more. See how I like it since I've not done so in quite a while. Used to travel all over the place in my '69 Firebird and 72 Grand Prix (good bye, Pontiac), but then switched to planes and missed out on all the great sights.

Enough said. My "son" sends his regards.

Carol, Thank you for your kind words. Don't give up on your vision of a travel trailer. Over the last year I have learned they come in many shapes and sizes and are all loved by their owners. There will be one out there, at the right time, that is just right for you & your dog to hit the road in . . .

ps Tell the boy hello :)
