A Very Merry Unbirthday!!!!!!!

It was time for the First Annual Un-Birthday Party for Popi's Fantastic Five. What did Oscar do? He grabbed his bed and ran for cover, that's what he did . . . Ha!
Once he was all situated and hiding in the closet, he said "Pete, you guys go right on ahead and have all those fast moving, excited 'little two-leggers' here, and feed them all the sugary sweets you want to. Just leave me out of it! I'll be just fine down here. Call me when it's over OK?"

So while Oscar was hiding in the closet, we had a grand time celebrating the grandkids Unbirthday Party . . . tree climbing, pinata whacking, face painting, animal petting, present opening, cake eating, and Bugeye driving! What a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!

When things finally settled down, Oscar came bounding out of the closet, chompin' on "Squeekey Squirrel", saying stuff like "I ain't afraid of no snakes OR their big friends" I said, "Oh, big scary fellas like the bunny rabbit?"

"Whatever!" said Oscar. "OK Pete, now that you've had a cool party to celebrate the grandkids birthdays, LET"' GO CAMPING!"

Oscar's Update

Hi folks, Oscar here. It may look like we've been up to a lot of nuthin' the last few months. but that's not the case. After Matagorda Madness, we had a great Christmas with all my two legged cousins and then we brought in the new year with friends at Brazos Bend State Park, land of the big alligators. Yeah THAT place. The 'gators all heard I was coming so they hid to avoid the whomping I might give 'em. LOL

Here are "Pete's Fantastic Five" Paloma, Eliot,Sparrow, Valentina, and Lucca, all trying their best to hold still one second for a photo. Sometimes they grow dinosaur tails and walk around the room roaring and trying to scare me . . .

Since the new window replacements, I've been spending a lot of time pretending to be a cat on the back of the sofa as I listen to the birds outside on the many feeders. Nice and relaxing. Pete can be also be heard practicing his new Bansuri which lowers my blood pressure close to zero as I zen out.

The deer are fearless and come right up to the window ledge to eat bird seed dropped from the window feeder.

Pete packed up the Wonder Egg and we headed out for the Hillapalooza Rally. We always like to see our fiberglass trailer pals at this gathering. As Pete set up camp, I took off to say "Hi" and sit on some laps!

Maurice and I smiled as Pete worked at setting up the campsite next door. Pooooor Pete, HA! People tell me I relax them as I melt on their laps . . . looks like I put Dan to sleep this time.

Meeting new furpals is one of my favorite things to do.

Hillapalooza just wouldn't be the same without some signature Texas Waffles and fun games. The horseshoe tournament was rained out, so these hillbillies just moved inside for a game of hillbilly shuffleboard with the "special" Hillapalooza Horseshoes.

As usual, it ended too soon. We look forward to next year's Hillapalooza Rally at Miller Creek RV Resort!

Wait! What's that I just heard? Pete's Fantastic Five are coming over tomorrow for the First Annual Un-Birthday Party and there's gonna be a wallaby, an alpaca, and a s,s,s,snake!?!
AAAAAUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH!
See ya later folks, time to go hide in the closet . . .

2011 Matagorda Madness

It was time for the annual December Matagorda Madness Rally with our fiberglass RV pals. We coaxed the Wonder Egg out of its comfy new nest to go relax by the beach.

Matagorda Madness was named for the unpredictable weather that can be found this time of year. 2011's early December climate could not have been better. We thought of all our fiberglass friends who put their trailers to bed months ago for winter hibernation. Here in Texas, we were kicking back and enjoying colorful sunsets and sunrises.

The fishing fleet departed like clockwork every morning as coffee brewed in the Wonder Egg.

A friendly fiberglass village grew up at the Matagorda Bay nature Park and we were even visited by a well kept, vintage Love Bug!

What would a Texas fiberglass trailer rally be without gathering around Ranger Duke's place to enjoy his famous poppers! Those grilled jalapenos, stuffed with sausage and wrapped in bacon simply melt in your mouth. Yum!

Oscar enjoyed a romp on the beach where he could let loose and run with his pals. Here he is ears-a-flyin' and taking up his big-dog stance that he does when romping with larger dogs. I think he surprised Guinness with this maneuver.

Oscar looked down the beach, yelled "Yippie . . . there she is!" and took off running to jump up into the arms of none other than Mrs Santa Claus whom he gave an earful about all the presents he wanted for Christmas.

This fine group of people has the feeling of an extended family as we gather with our trailers, share good times and create new memories.

After the relaxing, sunsets, sunrises, poppers, and beach run, and catching up with friends, we packed up and headed for home. All the way home, Oscar kept reliving his beach excursion and asking me when we were coming back.

"Next year little dog, next year . . ."
